Sweetest Devotion
Sweetest Devotion
Today marks our ten-year anniversary and I couldn’t be
happier than I am at this exact moment. It has been a marvelous journey filled
with ups and downs but through it all, she stuck by my side.
Being her wife is one
of my greatest accomplishments and to think I was afraid that she would not like
me based on my physical appearance.
It took me a lot of courage to go up and
talk to her and that courage was awarded when she asked me out. She came out on
national television only to lose everything she had built.
However, that was
only the first chapter of her story. She came back. Better, stronger, and ready
to influence, mentor, and pave the way for other actors, athletes, artists and just
‘normal’ people with a 9-5 job.
I love being her wife. I love watching her work
on her jokes always running them by me before the world had a chance to hear
them. I love being her strength when she is vulnerable like she was when her
father passed away.
I love being able to have a front seat as her plus one and watch
the world adore her and thank her like she was when she was awarded the Medal
of Freedom award.
There is nothing more honorable than being fully devoted to
someone you love. The sweetest devotion for me is being the friend, the advisor,
the confidant and the wife of Ellen for ten years.
