How to build a life Together: Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Jesse's pov

Just when I was about to hold the perfect-sized breasts that my hands and tongue missed, Alex’s mother walks in with Harper. My eyes immediately move to Harper who is sleeping and I could tell that she most definitely had Alex’s messy bed hair.

“Mom. You should have knocked.” Alex says frantically as she struggles to button on her shirt.

“Since when have I knocked when I have Harper? I am going to put her to bed and then we can discuss this.” Alex’s mother says.

“Fuck. Your mom definitely hates me more than before.” I say as I back away from Alex.

“She never hated you,” Alex says straightening her hair in the process.

“Maybe. I should just leave the two of you to talk about it.”

“You are not going anywhere.” Alex’s mom says joining us in the kitchen.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were in Germany playing around.” She continues as she walks further into the kitchen.

Alex’s mother, Brooke was my number one hater. She didn’t like me at all from the moment that we meet. The combination of having tattoos and traveling the world most of the time definitely meant that I wasn’t good enough for her daughter. And when Alex and I finally decided to tell her that I was intersexed that was the final nail to my coffin in terms of her not liking me.  It was the second most source of strain in our relationship and by far the most difficult one.

“I came to see Alex and my daughter while I work out on how to get out of my contract and get back here,” I say trying to sound confident.

“Now you want to stay. Where was this determination to stay two years ago? Alex has been doing fine raising her daughter on her own. She doesn’t need you here to mess things up.” She shouts and I can feel myself losing control.

“Our daughter. She is our daughter. I didn’t know she was pregnant when I left and if I had known I would have stayed but I know now so I am here to stay. Whether you like it or not I am staying and I will be with Alex and we will raise our daughter together.” I say and leave the house even though I can hear Alex calling out for me.
