How to build a life together; Chapter 5
(Italics represent a flashback)

Alex POV

Its date night with Jesse and am very thrilled about it. I decided to put on a navy blue dress with matching heels. I keep my hair down my side and bring it over to the front to rest on my right shoulder. As I was finishing putting on my lipstick, I hear a knock on the door. I know it's Jesse since it's already seven so I take a deep breath, check myself one last time, and head towards the door.

“Hey,” I say as I open the door.

“Hi. You look beautiful.” Jesse says as she hugs me.

“These are for you.” She says as she hands me white lilies.

“Thank you,” I say. “I’ll just put them in water then we can leave.”

“Okay.” She says and waits for me at the door.

Once am done I lock up and Jesse leads me to her car and opens the door for me before she gets in herself and drives us towards the restaurant.

“Can I order for you?” Jesse asks when we are seated in the private section of the restaurant.

“No. Go right ahead.” I answered

“Anything you are allergic too?”

“No.” I answered.

“Great.” She says to me then turns to talk to the waiter.

“Tell the top chef that we will have the Jesse special and no allergies on anything.”

“First I got served at the coffee shop, then you got us in this restaurant and a private room I might add then the Jesse special. Is that even a real dish? I asked trying to figure her out.

“Of course, it’s a real meal because if it isn’t then we are in for one hungry first date.” She says.

Recalling I had dropped her off at one of Australia’s famous stadiums I asked, “So what exactly do you do at the stadium.”

“Well, I am a professional footballer so the stadium is basically my office.”

“Well, that explains your hot body,” I say flirting

“Hot body huh?” She asks smiling.

“Yeah, the tattoo is the icing to the cake,” I say as I run the tip of my finger tracing the visible part of the tattoo.

“Well good thing I have more than one.” She says looking down at what am doing.

“How about you? What do you do?” She asks me

“I work with horses training, feeding, and cleaning them. During my free time, I work as a manager for some artists.”  I say as I take a sip of the red wine she had ordered for us.

“I like animals so maybe sometime you can teach me a thing or two about horses.”

“Yeah. So do you travel a lot?” I asked.

“I travel quite a bit. When am on contract in a certain place it makes it easy but when I am traded I have to move so that complicates things a bit. I hope that’s not a problem?

“If I am honest am a little worried about it but I think I could get over it once I get to know you better,” I answered.

“I hope you do because as you can tell I really like you.”

“That’s a good thing then,” I say trying to resist smiling.

We continue talking about various details about life and work. Time flies by and soon its time for us to leave.

“I had a very good time today,” I say as both and I were standing outside my front door.

“Thank you for the meal. Whatever it was it was delicious.”

She smiles at me and says, “You are welcome. I had a great time too.”

“Can you come in for coffee?”  I asked wanting to spend a little more time together.

“Sure.”
